Who
is Drew Hart &
his Hognoses

My name is Drew Hart—First and foremost, I am Generation X, so watch out! I am an Army vet with BA/MA degrees in psychology and 25 years in legal tech. This site documents my hognose snake hobby. I also enjoy other pets, Technology, and Science.

While focused on my Hognose Hobby, this is a personal site where I may include anything - prepare to be surprised!

Alan - Western Hognose. Male. Purple-line ArcticConda het Snow.

Named after: Alan Mathison Turing (23 June 1912 – 7 June 1954) was an English mathematician, computer scientist, logician, cryptanalyst, philosopher and theoretical biologist. He was highly influential in the development of theoretical computer science, providing a formalisation of the concepts of algorithm and computation with the Turing machine, which can be considered a model of a general-purpose computer. Turing is widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science. (from Wikipedia)

Max - Western Hognose. Male. Albino Conda, 100% het snow.

Named after: Max Karl Ernst Ludwig Planck (23 April 1858 – 4 October 1947) was a German theoretical physicist whose discovery of energy quanta won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1918. (from Wikipedia)

Rodney - Western Hognose. Male. Wild Type (Normal/Unknown).

Named after: Meredith Rodney McKay, Ph.D, is a fictional character in the 2004 Canadian-American Sci-Fi Channel television series Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, two military science fiction television shows about military teams exploring two galaxies (Milky Way and Pegasus) via a network of alien transportation devices. Carl - Western Hognose. Male. Red Conda Het Albino.

Named after: Carl Edward Sagan (November 9, 1934 â€“ December 20, 1996) was an American astronomer, planetary scientist and science communicator. His best-known scientific contribution is his research on the possibility of extraterrestrial life, including experimental demonstration of the production of amino acids from basic chemicals by exposure to light. He assembled the first physical messages sent into space, the Pioneer plaque and the Voyager Golden Record, which were universal messages that could potentially be understood by any extraterrestrial intelligence that might find them. Sagan was a popular public advocate of skeptical scientific inquiry and the scientific method; he pioneered the field of exobiology and promoted the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). He spent most of his career as a professor of astronomy at Cornell University, where he directed the Laboratory for Planetary Studies. (from Wikipedia)

Named after: Dr. Samantha "Sam" Carter, USAF is a fictional character in the Canadian–American military science fiction Stargate franchise. Played by Amanda Tapping, she appears in all three shows in the franchise: Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe. Vera - Western Hognose. Female. Super Artic.

Named after: Vera Florence Cooper Rubin (July 23, 1928 – December 25, 2016) was an American astronomer who pioneered work on galaxy rotation rates. She uncovered the discrepancy between the predicted and observed angular motion of galaxies by studying galactic rotation curves. These results were later confirmed over subsequent decades. Her work on the galaxy rotation problem was cited by others as evidence for the existence of dark matter. The Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile is named in her honor.. Rubin spent her life advocating for women in science, and she was known for her mentorship of aspiring female astronomers. Her legacy was described by The New York Times as "ushering in a Copernican-scale change" in cosmological theory. (from Wikipedia)

You might notice a pattern in my naming—it is based on Scientific figures, both real and fictional, that I admire. I plan to continue this tradition in the future.
